The Centre for correctional studies has been established by Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur with the purpose of contributing in the area of prison reforms and research. The centre intends to work in the area of prison reforms and correctional administration in partnership with the Rajasthan Prisons Department.

Objectives of the Centre

1. To conduct research in the areas of penology and correctional administration
2. To collect and disseminate data on prisons in Rajasthan
3. To provide consultancy work by advising prison administrators about best, new and innovative practices of correctional administration
4. To train prison staff on various aspects of prison management
5. To act as an academic and research partner of the Rajasthan Prisons Department
6. To conduct seminars and workshops for prisoners and prison staff for their betterment
