Aim of the Centre
To serve as harmonizing link between academics and governmental agencies for creating sensitivity and awareness towards focus areas.
Objectives
- To conduct Trainings Conferences, Meeting, Seminars, Workshops,Projects, Debates, and other sensitization and academic programmes on the issues of social defense and gender.
- Through continuous surveys, research and field level data collection,raise the issues of social defense and gender in front of the policy makers and implementing agencies and the Government.
- Develop knowledge transfer mechanism between Academia, Police and CJS in tackling issues of Social Defense.
- Conducting academic courses in social defense and gender studies
- To act as a consulting agency in the concerned areas.
- To create awareness among the members of society towards the responsibilities of the citizens pertaining to the concerned issues
- To provide a platform for debates and discussions on academic as well as practical approaches to study social defense and gender specific concerns.

Policing” Sponsored by Ministry of Women and Child Development,
New Delhi. The aim of the workshop was pushing for more women in police forces, the Union ministry of home affairs has advised to introduce ‘gender budgeting’ in allocation of police funds to provide ample facilities and equipment for women police personnel in the state. Besides gender budgeting, there is also a need to provide facilities such as toilets, restrooms and common rooms for women police personnel in all the existing and proposed police stations and administrative buildings. The home ministry, which woke up to the issue after a parliamentary committee last year pointed out deficiencies in basic facilities for women police personnel, had issued detailed guidelines on building designs to all the states in this regard. |
