About the CDMIS
1. The Centre will conduct studies and run diploma and certificate courses in different verticals of Disaster Management along with specialized courses on Installation Security Management and Installation Security Audit.
2.The idea is to build capacities and competencies at various levels of governance in order to assist policy makers.
3.The Centre would also conduct studies on issues concerning Disaster Management Plans at the District Level.
Aims of the CDMIS
1. To make endeavors towards creating awareness among the people about disasters and its consequences.
2. To engage in activities which may help in minimizing the damages caused by disasters.
3. To prepare them in advance to face such situations and to ensure their participation in the disaster mitigation plans.
4. To act as an entity to suggest the disaster management schemes to the Government and the NGOs.
5. To collect, compile and publish detailed information on the latest happening in the domain of Disaster Management.
6. To undertake the preparation of a comprehensive ‘ District Disaster Management Plan’ so as to establish standardized response to any disaster situation.
7. To co-coordinate the activities related to disaster management at the state and district levels.
8. To develop training modules and case studies on disaster management.
9. To develop disaster preparedness and capacity building through preparation of district disaster management plans.
